The known Universe

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Mind expanding video about the Universe that we know (for now).

The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world’s most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History. The new film, created by the Museum, is part of an exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan through May 2010.

Value of taking time off

Friday, November 20th, 2009

(german version)
Stefan Sagmeister who is running a design agency in New York talks about the value of taking time off. He is working on an alternative plan to spend free time that he uses for creative experiments and relaxing in Bali. He basically plans to cut off five of his retirement years to place them into the working years. Stefan designed mosquito repellent typography, he printed portraits from wild bali dogs on 99 T-Shirts and presents some more nice projects. With his creative potential and top clients in his portfolio this plan could work out for him, what a lucky guy! ;-)

This downhill neonskaters follow a perfect choreography- fun, but please also take a look on the carving and sliding moves itself. The boys ride on new Freebords which make it possible to drive sideways and rotate the board like a snowboard with speed control. Freebords will find their way.

8 Million Stories

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

After our last video post about the beauty wall animation we looked deeper for the producers of this quiki impressive sound effects. On the website from soundproducer Roberto Lange we found this video that shows us how these guys work with a trash can to produce dope sounds. A creative audiovisual lab that looks like an art installation. Projects like this remembers us, that our world is not just analogue or digital, it`s a charming symbiosis of both. enjoy!
